The young, but world-wise Winnie

The young, but worldly-wise Winnie

I was brought up in Denmark, generally sporting a fetching stripy jumper and a knowing smile. These days I tend to avoid the stripy jumpers, but the knowing smile still occasionally shows itself. When I left Denmark 13 years ago, I had every intention of returning after 6 months in the UK – and I’m still here. But then again, who can blame me for falling in love with the place.

I worked hard, played hard and I went from smiley waitress at seafront hotel to smiley Marketing Services Manager at Brighton-based cruise line Island Cruises. Along the way, I completed a BA Hons degree in Business and Tourism Management and the CIM professional diploma in Marketing. But of course, books will only get you so far and I am a great believer in self-learning. And this is why I have set up this site – to get some more hands-on experience in ‘behind-the-scenes’ marketing, both online and social media marketing.

Today I am a CIM qualified Marketer with 6 years B2C and B2B marketing experience. Results driven with excellent agency management skills, I am a confident and personable communicator. My ideas and enthusiasm have contributed significantly to the success of the brands I have worked on, which include Island Cruises (cruise division of First Choice Holidays), The University of Brighton (Faculty of Education and Sport), Neighbo.com (social media in the housing sector) and Target Tuberculosis (charity sector). I have an excellent track record in planning and implementing large-scale marketing campaigns on time, on brand and to budget – and combine a good eye for detail with a cool head under pressure, and the ability to provide solutions – not problems. The campaigns that I have worked on include direct mail, print and online advertising, sales support material, brochure production, website usability / search engine optimisation and partnership marketing.
